Day 1

Try a taste of international cinema with a matinee at Cinema Arts Theatre, (703-978-6991) renowned for showing the films celebrated by The Oscars, The Golden Globes and at Sundance.

For that Latin flavor, pop into the Fairfax Mercado Latino at 10893 Main Street (703-359-4366)

Try a taste of the subcontinent with vegetarian Indian cuisine available at the Woodlands (703-385-1996) at 4078 Jermantown Road in Kamp Washington.

Just a few blocks west on Route 29, you’ll discover Wegman’s, one of the most comprehensive and exotic grocery stores found anywhere.

Then stop at the Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center for a little taste of local history. Then burn off a few calories by strolling the streets of Old Town Fairfax where the shopping is sensational.

Day 3
